Prepare an internal-link review with AI

An internal-linking rule can run correctly without making every link useful to the reader. An anchor may match a keyword but lead to a page that is too broad. A priority page may deserve a link that the current rule does not create.

Automation and editorial judgment address complementary needs. Auto Links for SEO organizes rule-based linking. An AI assistant can help examine a defined set of pages and prepare suggestions. PAGUP Agent Control can frame the assistant’s access to supported WordPress content through the workflow you configure.

This is not an announcement of a native integration between the products. Begin with a report to review, not automatic changes to your website.

Choose a small, useful corpus

Select pages related to one service, subject or product group. Identify important destinations, excluded pages and language constraints. The quality of the review depends first on what you actually provide or authorize the assistant to examine.

For an initial exercise, you might choose five to ten pages. That is an example of a manageable scope, not a plugin limit or a coverage promise.

Specify the source being examined as well. Stored WordPress content and links in rendered HTML are not always the same object of analysis. Plugins or themes may transform a page when it is displayed. Reviewing stored content alone does not prove that a link is absent from the rendered page.

Request justified suggestions

A useful suggestion identifies the source page, destination, proposed anchor and editorial reason for the link. It also states whether the assistant could check for an equivalent existing link in the material examined.

“Add more internal links” is too open-ended for this first step. Ask for a limited, reasoned report instead:

Examine only the pages I selected and that you can actually access. Suggest no more than five internal links that would help the reader. For each suggestion, provide the source page, destination, anchor, sentence context and justification. Distinguish links observed in the examined source from links you are proposing. Do not change anything. Identify pages or information you could not inspect.

This is an example instruction, not a permission mechanism. Configure a workflow without writing access separately when your goal is a report.

Check the recommendations

Review the relationships yourself. Does the destination deliver what the anchor promises? Will the reader find useful additional information? Does the suggestion respect the site’s language, intent and hierarchy?

Inspect the rendered page before concluding that a link is missing. An unnecessary repetition does not improve the experience simply because a suggestion looks relevant in an excerpt.

Ask the assistant to distinguish observations, assumptions and recommendations. A page outside the corpus has not been audited. A ten-page report does not become an exhaustive map of the website.

Where PAGUP Agent Control fits

For published pages, an active guided connection allows public reading without a task. For unpublished content, the guided workflow provides an analysis task limited to the content, fields and duration you choose in WordPress. Advanced REST profiles, including Read Only, are a separate path that uses an application password and is documented notably for Claude Code or Codex. Choose the documentation matching your actual configuration.

Sometimes, browsing the published page is enough, without a site connection. Agent Control’s value depends on a WordPress work requirement, not simply on the presence of AI in the project.

Turn the report into a decision

Keep accepted suggestions in a reviewed list. You can then decide whether to adjust Auto Links rules or make an appropriate editorial change. Those actions require their own method and verification.

This guide does not ask Agent Control to change Auto Links settings, SEO-plugin fields or the entire website. Confirm any specific capability in the documentation and test it in your context before using it.

Common questions

Does AI replace automatic rules?

Not in this workflow. It helps prepare a review and suggestions. Rules and decisions about changing them remain a separate task.

Does the report find every orphan page?

Not without a complete inventory and appropriate link data. A page cannot be declared orphaned merely because it was absent from the excerpts examined.

No native integration of that kind is claimed here. The complementarity described is about work organization and editorial review.

Can this promise better rankings?

No. The process aims to improve link relevance and decision quality. It does not guarantee search-engine outcomes.
