Changelog, Automatic Internal Links for SEO
Release notes for the plugin that turns focus keywords into internal links. This page records what changed and why it matters in practice; the complete version-by-version history lives on WordPress.org.
Latest release
2.0.11
- Moves the Pagup Agent Control panel below the plugin's own settings, so the internal linking options are reached first.
- Declares compatibility with WordPress 7.1.
Earlier releases that matter here
- 2.0.10 revalidates the bundled free and Pro Freemius SDK trees against the official distribution, improves narrow-viewport layouts, and updates the nine shipped admin locales.
- 2.0.9 fixes PHP 8.1 to 8.4 deprecations in the bundled HTML parser, without changing the generated HTML.
- 2.0.8 adds WPML same-language link filtering, hardens activation database migrations, and updates the Freemius SDK to 2.13.4.
- 2.0.7 adds SEOPress and AIOSEO as keyword sources for internal link detection, plus security baseline hardening.
The 2.0.8 release is the one that changed multilingual behaviour: links that would cross a language boundary are now filtered at render time where the language is known. See multilingual sites.
All in One SEO needed its own code path because it does not store keyphrases in postmeta like the others. The technical detail is in the AIOSEO deep dive.
Checking your version
The installed version is shown on the WordPress Plugins screen, next to the plugin name. The current release is also listed on the download page.
The boundary that has not changed
This plugin reads the keyword layer and never writes to it. Populating focus keywords is Auto Focus Keyword's job, and the two remain independent: you can run this one on a site whose keywords were all typed by hand.
Links are also still injected at render time rather than written into your content, in every release. Deactivating the plugin removes every generated link instantly.
